Unit 1 Scientific Thinking and Graphing
Key ideas:
By the end of this unit, you should be able to do the following: 1. Experimental design
2. Data Collection
Briefly Introduce 3. Mathematical Modeling

A little bit about this short introductory unit:
The year will begin asking students to identify anything measurable about a swinging pendulum. Through class and small group discussion, students test variables of a swinging pendulum against the pendulums forward and back movement, its period. Students then use Logger Pro software to graph their data and draw conclusions in small groups. Whiteboarding will be introduced and student groups will give a short presentation on what they discovered about the pendulum motion. An emphasis, as you see to the left, will be given to scientific thinking and questioning, data collection, identification of variables, and problem solving. Lab Report Turn in Form
1) Log in to your student Google account. 2) Open a new Google Drive document. Type your lab report per your teacher's instructions. Then, click the link above and follow the instructions on the form on how to turn in your lab report.
